Filhos de Angola Bristol, Mestre Laercio.
Capoeira is a unique flow of martial art, dance, theatre, song and music. Originally used by slaves in the plantations of Brazil, Capoeira is now a worldwide art, combining dexterity and flexibility to create a highly energetic dance/combat/game.
Training at DMAC explores the dynamics of the capoeira game and the philosophy of the art – mental flexibility, calm under pressure, trickery and camaraderie – and the music, as passed down by our master, Mestre Laercio.
All levels welcome, beginners welcome to all classes.
Filhos de Angola is a worldwide capoeira group led by Mestre Laercio from Salvador, Bahia.
Based in Berlin, Mestre Laercio teaches master classes in capoeira as well as samba dance. The Bristol group of Filhos de Angola enjoys regular visits from Laercio as well as the weekly training sessions. These regular sessions are taught by treinels from the Filhos de Angola group.
